SWANS CLUB NOTES: Riverina Football Record July 23, 2000 - No 15.

Last week was a day of highs and lows, a high for the Griffith club but a low for Temora and the RFL. It has been a long time since an RFL club has had to forfeit both Reserves and Under 18's due to the lack of players, which is a shame for everyone involved. Nevertheless, it was a beautiful sunny day for football and the Reserves warmed up the crowd with a display of simulated game play, it was ball movement at its best with Grant Kelson who is normally seen doing the running for the Firsts standing out with a BOG performance showing both his defensive and attacking skills all over the ground. It was then over to the Netballers with A Grade winning by 10 goals and B Grade by 20 in a good day for the girls. First Grade got back in the winner's circle with a 99-point win over the Roo's, keeping the opposition to just one goal for three and a half quarters.

Thank you to Jack Trimboli of Griffith Autoscreen for his continued support by sponsoring the days game. Awards went as follows, it was Kaine 'SS' Malone again running all day to take home another Exies Dinner for Two, Snuggles-In will receive a visit from David 'Cuddles' Curran who will have the voucher in hand to buy that special person in his life something special. Rodney 'You're the Man' Duncan won the Donaldson's Mitre 10 award with a great game at half forward, while the Ron's Auto One award and the Players Mug was won by the 'Freak' himself Brendon Giason who rucked almost all day. Matthew 'Special' Kenny took out the McDonalds voucher with a return to form, while Jason 'Flash' Vant showed he can play anywhere on the ground to be awarded the Caltex Petrol award.

On the Netball scene Megan Rawle was on target once again shooting for goal in their 10-goal win for A Grade, while Minnietta Walker lead by example in the centre of the court in B Grades win. The girls would like to thank all the guys who came along to support them as it was the best following, they have had for the year, let's hope it continues.

This week it's the Tigers in a nothing to lose for all grades. The club and the players would like to thank Steve and Julie Best of Steve Best Plumbing Services and Ian Geddes of Cater and Blumer for sponsoring today's game.

Don't forget the Trivia Night on tonight after the game starting around 6.30 - 7 p.m. in the club, tables of 10 with everybody welcome. Good luck to all grades.
