SWANS CLUB NOTES: Riverina Football Record May 28, 2000 - No 8.

LAST week (against Ganmain-GGM) was a case of 'so close yet so far away', in what was a very hard & tough game for the First Grade. To their credit they never stopped trying to come away with the points right up to the last minute, giving other clubs a warning, we are getting better with every game. But when it just boils down, we still lost and came away without the much needed four points come finals time. Once again, the Reserves showed how much depth the club has with another 94 points win. This week no doubt will be their toughest yet with Turvey Park being undefeated as well, both teams will be keen to keep their record intact. In the Under 18's the away trip once again proved to be another stumbling block with only 16 players available, and to compound things having players sent from the field ensured the four points would not be ours. It was a good day for the Netballers with both grades recording big win, especially the A Grade who recorded a massive 46-point win.

Shane Best Painting Contractor was last week's game sponsor and the club, and the players would like to thank Shane & Jill for their support. Awards went as follows in the First Grade with both the Exies Dinner for Two as well as the Players Mug going to Jason 'Flash' Vant, Jason Magoci won the Snuggle-In voucher with a solid effort. Brendan 'Freakshow' Giason took out the Donaldson's Mitre 10 award, while David Curran will be using the Ron's Auto One award to his advantage. Jack Rowston's dad Phil once again gave his all to take out the McDonalds voucher and last of all Mark 'Sav-occa' O'Connor gave the team a focal point at full forward to be awarded with the Caltex Petrol voucher.

In the Reserves Matthew Bunn ran all day to take the Billabong Bottle Shop award. Rodney Duncan again pushed for a run in the Firsts with another good game, to be awarded with another Autobarn award, while the veteran in Shane 'Goose' Ruyg will be shouting happy meals with the McDonalds voucher. Griffith Laundry Service will receive a visit from our very own Daniel Southern look alike, in David Dunn who once again was outstanding. Danny Beriman will also be pushing for selection, with another consistent effort to be awarded with the Players Mug.

Third Grade awards went as follows: Ben Ford won thew J.D's Pizza award just edging out Daniel Best who took home the McDonalds award. Andrew Elston will be checking out the new release section at Video Ezy with voucher in hand.

This week we have another tough one for all grades, but with an improving team and the home advantage, we won't be happy unless we get the four points. Many thanks to both Tom Harmer from the Yenda Producers and John Kupsch from JK Signs, for sponsoring today's game which the Club values gratefully. Good luck to all grades. Go Swans!
